Automated pallet shuttle

Our client was facing issues with their existing pallet shuttles, which were not functioning properly. This resulted in frequent manual handling, which was very time-consuming. The goal of this project was to develop an improved version of the existing shuttles, primarily focusing on positioning.

At the start of the project, we visited the warehouse to measure various aspects and map out the details. Subsequently, a digital twin of the existing warehouse environment was created, focusing on the rail network. We then developed a new principle for the pallet shuttle that would fit onto the existing rails.

Caden was responsible for the concept development and mechanical engineering within this project. The control via sensors was handled in collaboration with our client. Regular feedback was provided to the client, including design reviews conducted in Virtual Reality at certain stages. This approach allowed the client to have the best visibility into the progress of the project.
